Waiting Shelter Refurbishment – Ashwell and Morden Station
The refurbishment works carried out at Ashwell and Morden Station involved the restoration and preservation of the existing waiting shelters to improve their condition, appearance, and safety. The scope of works included:
- Removal of Rotten Timber: Careful identification and removal of all deteriorated timber elements, including cladding, trims, and structural components where necessary.
- Making Good: Repair and replacement of damaged areas using treated timber, ensuring structural integrity and alignment with the original design.
- Surface Preparation: Full surface preparation, including sanding and filling to ensure a smooth and stable base for painting.
- Repainting: Application of high-quality, weather-resistant paint to all exposed surfaces, restoring the shelters’ visual appearance and providing long-term protection against the elements.
All works were completed in accordance with relevant safety and heritage guidelines, ensuring minimal disruption to station operations and the travelling public
