West Hampstead Control Room Project
The West Hampstead Recontrol Project involved the full recovery and strip-out of the existing control room, followed by an extensive refurbishment programme to modernise the space while maintaining the operational integrity of the control box throughout the works.
Access Modifications:
A temporary access door was installed on the side of the building to allow for safe and efficient access, egress, and material delivery. This measure ensured that daily operations of the control room continued uninterrupted.
Structural and Layout Works:
The scope included extending the existing raised plinth to accommodate new control equipment and improve spatial layout. A key part of the works was the removal of the old suspended ceiling. All existing ceiling tiles, grid, and perimeter trims were carefully dismantled and disposed of into designated waste skips. A new suspended ceiling system was then installed to meet updated specifications.
Partitioning and Internal Works:
The refurbishment also involved the installation of glazed partitions to form new internal sections within the room, improving visibility and layout efficiency. New doors were installed to suit the revised layout.
Finishing Works:
The full interior of the control room underwent complete redecoration, including preparation and painting of all wall and ceiling surfaces to a high specification finish. These works were coordinated to ensure minimal disruption and were phased to align with ongoing site activities.
